REVIEW #1 – I’ll have to be honest and say I was wary of all of the glowing reviews. I kinda assumed Coinhuskers had friends and relatives put up a bunch of great reviews. I sold some silver coins to Coinhuskers and then thought I could get a better price elsewhere. I spent a day driving around the city getting insulted with amounts as low as 40% of the value. REVIEW #9 – I contacted CoinHuskers to get a quote on selling some coins that my husbands uncle had gifted him over 18 years (every Christmas and birthdays). We knew many wouldn’t be worth more than the silver as they weren’t rare.
We had gone to another local coin dealer here in Omaha and we were offered $190 and then $213 and since we weren’t in a hurry we decided to check out CoinHuskers too.
I was a little worried when I called to schedule an appointment and they asked me to send photos of the coins first, but then she emailed me to set up an appointment time and I realized that 1) they don’t want to waste their time and 2) since their office is in a Co-Working Space they probably don’t just want random people showing up.
Dave was very professional. They work out of a few different smaller offices in the building so we went to a meeting room down the hall. He went through all the coins and looked them up in a guidebook on his phone. He wrote everything out for me and I was free to take the paper quote with me even if I didn’t decide to sell to him. He talked me through why each set was valued where it was and I was pleasantly surprised that some were much higher than I thought while others were as cheap as I suspected. He offered me $325 which I felt was obviously a much better deal than the other company had offered!
Overall, I would recommend them based on their honesty, professionalism and overall easy to work with!
*also, another review knocked their office being in a warehouse: it’s a warehouse that was developed into a modern co-working space where people can rent various size offices and still have access to a break room, meeting rooms and other “office amenities” without paying for a giant office. Hopefully this review is what makes somebody decide to see Alex and decide for themselves. I have a real keen sense of people and I had no reservations about this young mans integrity after talking to him for the first 5 minutes. He is very open, very transparent, and writes everything down in simple terms as you go along your inventory. He keeps everything in plain site and goes along every item with you writing everything down so everyone is on the same page. He will explain how pricing works So that you understand it and will leave it up to you after you have went over everything. I think we’ll put my mind at ease the most is he did not seem concerned one way or the other whether he bought my collection or not. It can’t hurt to give him a chance and decide for yourself. There wasn’t a lot of inventory at that time but I was able to get a few silver buffalo rounds for a good price.
Best price I have seen on constitutional silver in a couple of years too.
My son even got a 1 gram silver bar as a gift from the guy working there. He loved it and shows it off as his “first silver bar” to everyone he sees now.
Only downside was lack of parking and little inventory (due to demand I suppose).
