REVIEW #5 – This guy is the best! If you’re looking for a real education on what you’ve got, Mr. Holmes will shoot you straight. When my Dad passed away in 2017, he left me a collection of gold and silver. I had absolutely no idea what it was worth, as I had never so much as lain eyes on a gold coin before. I was lost and without my Dad, I really didn’t know where to start. I was a prime target for someone who knew a thing or two, to profit handsomely from my ignorance. The first dealer I went to raked everything into a pile and made me an offer on the whole lot, but was a bit “squirrely” about telling me what each piece was worth, and how to determine the value of each piece. I wasn’t interested in selling what I had to the first person who told me it’s value, so I sought Mr. Holmes for a second opinion. Mr. Holmes took the time to educate me on how each piece’s value was determined, according to industry standards. Apparently there is a thing called the “American Numismatic Association” that holds dealers to a strict code of ethics for buying and selling, of which Mr. Holmes is a lifetime member. I of course had no idea such an association existed. Mr. Holmes told me what he would pay for each piece, and how much he could then sell each piece for his dealer profit. How many businesses will tell you the profit margin they’ll make on what you’re selling, and then provide you with the names and locations of three other businesses who might offer you a better price depending on demand? With the free education that Mr. Holmes provided me, I was able to go home and calculate the value of the gold coins my Dad had gifted me. My calculations came out to be roughly $104,000, based on Mr. Holmes’ teachings. The first dealer had offered me about $80,000 for the lot. This guy is the real deal. He’s running an honest business, his prices are more than fair, and he is absolutely the place to go if you want to learn about buying and selling. Thanks Mr. Holmes!! – Jason & Tasha Hermann
