The market has an old traditional vibe, located in the historic Ad Dirah area near Al Masmak Fortress, which makes walking around feel like stepping back in time. Most of the shops are small but packed with all kinds of gold jewelry — from simple daily pieces to very detailed traditional designs.
The sellers were generally friendly and open to bargaining, which is part of the fun if you enjoy negotiating. Prices vary from shop to shop, so it’s worth comparing before buying. One thing I really liked is how each store displays its jewelry so beautifully; it makes you want to look at everything.
However, the place can get quite crowded, especially in the evening, and parking around the area isn’t the easiest. Still, it’s definitely worth visiting if you’re into gold, culture, or just want to experience a traditional Saudi marketplace. – J
