REVIEW #8 – Very cool place. I’m just now getting into ancient coins and starting my collection. I didn’t know they do appointment only and I just showed up, and apparently it was even after their usual closing time (5 pm, it was 5:10-ish.) They seemed a little hurried, as can be expected, but they were actually very gracious and took time with me anyways instead of turning me away. I bought a few small pieces from Livonia, told them my coin-collecting plans, and they shared some historical stories about the pieces and gave me advice about one of the auction sites I am following, to make sure I am not getting ripped off. Very knowledgeable and friendly people, seem to have a great supply of coins and related materials, and I’m excited to start building my collection. REVIEW #9 – We visited Ann Arbor Coins & Gold today and were very impressed with the staff’s knowledge and professionalism. Even though there were several customers waiting, the two gentlemen worked efficiently together in a very organized and systematic way to assist everyone.
We brought in a mix of old stamps, various coins, and some vintage and gold jewelry. Within minutes, they carefully sorted everything and explained what had value versus what was face value or not worth much. While the coins and stamps weren’t as valuable as we had hoped, the vintage jewelry turned out to be worth more than expected.
