REVIEW #1 – Went there to sell some gold and silver bars. First off the parking lot has security by the north Kansas City Police Department, always a good thing. Was greeted by a internal security person at the door who answered my questions fast and accurately. He directed me to a gentleman named Eric, Eric took care of my sale, he was quick with the ascertainment of my precious metals. They accepted my gold and silver, then issued me a check promptly. REVIEW #2 – I was looking to sell a 1 oz bar of gold so I walked in the place on Barry rd that got a lot of nice reviews but I wasn’t impressed with her offer so I contacted Midwest Coin and am extremely happy I did. The quote I received over the phone was much higher than the girls quote on Barry Rd and it was honored when I walked in the place later that day. So unless you want a lower price for your precious metals I highly recommend contacting Midwest coin and see for yourself. They also offer a lot of other products like jewelry, watches, etc. This will be the place I go to for any other precious metal needs in the future. – Michael L
REVIEW #3 – If you are buying bullion prices are on par with large online dealers but I like the fact that you walk out the door with the investment that day. The name is confusing because the store is in Meirotto Jewelers. The building itself is a bit intimidating if you are used to shopping other coin shops. I did not see any numismatics on display. The counter was busy as silver and gold were both at a 6 month low that day so I didn’t want to try and have him show me stock. The only real downside would be there was only one person to handle the precious metal transactions but I realize this is probably not an every day customer load. I will be returning. – steve reaves

REVIEW #8 – My experience at this business has been incredibly positive. Today was my second visit. I’m a derivatives trader by profession, but I occasionally scrounge up & collect rounds and scrap silver/gold. I have a small scale at home & I always know the current price of spot so I generally know what I’m walking in with & what the value is. I’ve been known to “play dumb” as a seller, which I did on my first visit to this store. I didn’t act as uninformed when I went in today. I didn’t need to. They already passed my test the first time. Both times I’ve sold silver/gold here, the offers I was given (and accepted) were within $10-15 of what I personally calculated before deciding to sell. This tells me that they’re fair and honest. As far as anyone complaining about the police presence or the atmosphere, again, my experience has been positive. I’ve encountered a total of four different officers, all of whom were polite and helpful (dare I say even funny and welcoming). The atmosphere is what I expect it to be for a business of this kind – clean & professional. I understand that they serve a very specific type of clientele. The employees & atmosphere are a reflection of the primary demographic they’re serving. Personally, I’m a t-shirt & jeans person. I live in the P&L District & I work from home because the stock market doesn’t require me to be in an office. That being the case, I decided not to replace my vehicle after it was totaled. Instead, I walk or use public transportation. I mention this because both times I’ve visited this store, I was wearing a t-shirt & jeans and I’m sure I looked dehydrated & sweaty because it was hot & I walked a long distance to get there. Despite my appearance, I was welcomed in and treated with respect both times. I didn’t feel looked down upon or like I was treated any differently than anyone else. This is a great business. I went down there and met with Eric. My silver wqs weighed and I was re assured both were Troy.
Eric had no problem switching out my silver rounds for 2 of the same manufacturer.
